About

Eight years in marketing. Automations and agents I build myself.

Profile

I’m Ajay Kumar — a marketing consultant who spends about as much time in Search Console, GA4 and a staging environment as in a brand deck.

I started in content and SEO, moved into performance marketing for real estate developers, led growth at a Web3 company through a full market cycle, and picked up fashion clients along the way because a friend’s label was discounting itself to death and I thought I could see why.

Somewhere in there I stopped waiting on other people to automate the boring parts and started building it myself. n8n is where most of it lives now — workflows that move leads between an ad account and a CRM, agents that qualify or route them before a human sees them, reporting that assembles itself instead of eating a Monday morning. I’m not a software engineer and I don’t write production code, but I ship automation that used to sit on somebody’s to-do list indefinitely. Across three markets that are technically nothing alike, that has been the most useful thing about me.

These days I work with four to six clients at a time, as either a fractional growth lead or a strategist embedded with an in-house team. I care about compounding assets over rented attention, about telling clients the uncomfortable thing early, and about leaving behind a team that no longer needs me.

The path

How I got here.

2018

Content and on-page SEO at a digital agency, writing and optimising for anyone who would pay. Learned search the slow way — by getting it wrong on other people’s websites first.

2020

Moved into performance marketing for real estate developers. Long consideration cycles, expensive leads, and a CRM that finally taught me the difference between a lead and a buyer.

2022

Growth lead at a Web3 company through a full market cycle. Owned acquisition to retention, learned how fast a community turns into a queue of mercenaries, and how much of that was a positioning problem.

2024

Independent. Since then: token projects, developers, brokerages and D2C fashion labels — mostly as a fractional growth lead or a strategist embedded with an in-house team.

How I work

Four things I won’t compromise on.

Measure it or don’t ship it

If we can’t define what success looks like before launch, we aren’t running a campaign, we’re decorating. Every initiative gets a metric and a date attached upfront.

No dark patterns, ever

No fake urgency, no bought links, no inflated case-study numbers, no growth tactic I’d be embarrassed to explain to your customers. Short-term tricks become long-term liabilities — a lesson Web3 teaches faster than most.

Teach, don’t hoard

I document what I do and train your team to run it. If you can fire me in eighteen months, the engagement worked exactly as intended.

Say the hard thing early

If your offer is the problem, your pricing is wrong, or the channel you asked for is a bad fit, you’ll hear it in week two — not in month six when the retainer is up for renewal.

Questions
Are you a freelancer or an agency?

Independent consultant. You work with me directly — no account manager, no junior running your campaigns while a senior name sits on the pitch deck. For specialist production I bring in a small trusted bench, and I tell you when I do.

How many clients do you take on?

Four to six at a time, depending on engagement depth. That cap is the point: it is what makes senior attention possible rather than theoretical.

Where are you based and which timezones do you cover?

India, working remotely with teams across IST, GST, GMT and US timezones. Web3 clients are distributed by default, so overlapping hours are normal rather than an accommodation.

What if my industry isn’t Web3, real estate or fashion?

Then we talk about whether the shape of your problem is familiar even if the category isn’t. Subscription economics, long consideration cycles, community-led growth and taste-driven purchases cover a lot of ground. If it’s genuinely outside what I know, I’ll say so — the first month of learning your market shouldn’t be billed to you as strategy.

Are you a developer?

No, and I say so before anyone has to ask. I don’t build your product or your app. What I do build is the automation layer around your marketing — n8n workflows and AI agents — and I’m fluent enough in how a stack works to hold a real conversation with your engineers when something needs to sit deeper in the product. If a job genuinely needs a software engineer, I will tell you that rather than quietly doing it badly.
